The school which opened in 1934 was sited opposite the end of County Road. The school became a comprehensive in 1969. Then in 1983 the Hereward School merged with The Neale-Wade School and moved to Wimblington Road to form a new comprehensive. The Hereward buildings were subsequently demolished in 1985 to be replaced by housing.
