The school comprised boys and girls schools on the same site. The first mixed class was in 1958.

The schools were subsequently demolished and a new primary school built on the site.
The boys and girls secondary schools merged with Murton Secondary Modern School in 1978 to become Easington Comprehensive School. The school was later renamed Easington Community School, and then Easington Community Science College in January 2007 after became a specialist science college in 2012. The school is now an academy school known as Easington Academy housed at a nearby site.
