On 1st October 1929 the Deeside Central School, situated in Rowley’s Drive, opened. It was the first Central School to be opened in Flintshire. In 1973 the Deeside Central School became the "Lower School" of Connah’s Quay High School, It eventually closed in 1986. It is now used by a number of small businesses as the Deeside Enterprise Trust.
