'Britannia' Class Pacific Steam Loco 70022 'Tornado' at Edinburgh Waverley Station

This loco is unrelated to the recently constructed LNER Peppercorn Class A1 60163 of the same name (Tornado.)

Built in 1951 and withdrawn on 23/12/1967 and cut up by T.W. Ward of Inverkeithing on 12/03/1968.
What a shame it wasn't at Barry, if it had it may well be still steaming today. However it lived on as an N-guage Dapol scale model ND-095G.

Sister locomotives 70000 'Britannia' and 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' were preserved and are still used for heritage steam services.
