Colinton Tunnel, Edinburgh, April 1962
A 150 yard long tunnel on a six-mile loop off the Edinburgh-Carstairs main line which passes close to Hailes Youth Hostel, Edinburgh.
The branch carried stone, salt, paper, textiles and snuff until October 1967 following the closure of Kinleith paper mill.
The track was lifted in 1968 and now form part of a walking and cycling route.
